Like many other much-loved humans, they believed that they owned their dogs, instead of realizing that their dogs owned them.
- Dodie Smith, 101 Dalmatians
Daisey is our 10 year old Dalmatian. My wife adopted her when she was 5, and she is the sweetest, most loving pet one could ever hope for. She is also completely deaf, a condition which doesn't really mean anything other than we communicate to her using hand gestures. Deafness affects Dalmatians more than other dogs and, unfortunately, causes many otherwise healthy animals to be put down. See www.deafdogs.org for the facts and myths about deaf dogs.
Daisey and her 2 year old kitty sister, Moto. We had to take a picture of this when it happened. They're actually touching, and nobody is getting clawed or barked at.
